The Production Process for a product is a resource-intensive event, this cannot be avoided, however, it should be done to limit the negative impact it has by reducing;

• Number of components needed

• Amount of adhesive used

• Number of jigs, fixtures, and tools that need to be fully produced

• Implement a modular system to reuse as much as possible

• Repair rather than scrap damaged components

• Limit potential human error or damage

• Ensure consistent quality to reduce waste

• Monitor material selection, cutting, and waste to limit defects and scrap

 

Doing the above will reduce a product's impact but will also improve quality and reduce cost by reducing waste
