Engineered Soft Goods (ESG) is a process to produce soft products in a more controlled and higher efficiency method than traditionally, it utilizes more jigs, fixtures, tools, and heavy machinery to remove hand work done traditionally
Following this method raises quality and repeatability but also increases cost as the additional equipment and normally bonding agents add to the traditional cost, in large scale production though it is a much quicker and more consistent process
In the Technical Accessories industry, it is now the standard and increasingly is becoming standard for higher quantity mass-produced soft goods
When adding Electronics into the soft goods this becomes AESG (Advanced ESG) which is becoming a larger area as printing circuits onto fabrics and producing more heat resistant and breathable but waterproof fabrics opens new opportunities
